3PL Expands with Chambers of New Racking in New Premises

Mark Thompson Transport (MTT) are part of the Kinaxia Logistics Group and acquired a new 110,000 sq ft of new office and warehouse space in Warrington. MTT are a growing company with 275 vehicles and employing 190 staff.

The new premises are on the site of a former Royal Naval Air Station and were latterly a manufacturing and research base for Myprotein, which is part of The Hut Group

Having worked extensively with 3^rd Party Logistics Providers over recent years and importantly with other Kinaxia Logistic Group Companies Avanta UK Ltd were in a good position to tender for the pallet racking required by MTT.

Avanta UK Ltd designed, supplied and installed a UK Manufactured pallet racking system in a wide aisle configuration over 4x chambers giving the client circa 8,000 pallet positions. The racking is of a medium duty to support 500KG pallets over 3 and 4 levels.

Advantages of a locally sourced racking system includes the availability of spares for when and if the system needs adding to and / or reconfiguring.

Looking after the site Health & Safety, Avanta UK acted as Principal Contractor for the duration of the pallet racking project and beyond for floor marking and signage projects that followed.

The project took 6 weeks to complete including 3 weeks manufacture and 3 weeks installation.
