Pallet Racking For Sweet Squared, Leeds

The glamour of CND^TM, MoroccanTan^®, Waxperts^®, AlterEgo Italy and more… is on the move in Leeds with award winning beauty distributor Sweet Squared relocating to a purpose built 30,000 square foot warehouse facility in North Leeds.

The subject of this case study is Pallet Racking Frames & Beams which is less glamorous than the CND Shellac^TM 14+ day Gel Polish and Vinylux^TMweekly polish that S2 sell to professionals all over the UK, but still important to the success of this growing distribution business.

Introducing Sweet Squared (The Client)

Founded in 2006, Sweet Squared (S2) is the award winning exclusive distributor partner for CND^TM, Lecenté^TM, Glitters, Minx^TM, MoroccanTan^®, Waxperts^®, AlterEgo Italy, ColorProof and Nimue in the UK and ROI. CND^TM(Creative Nail Design, Inc.) is the global leader in professional nail, hand and foot beauty and introduced multi-award-winning CND^TM Shellac in 2010.

Samuel and Samantha Sweet are the co-founders of the business and in a recent interview Samantha encapsulates the ethos behind Sweet Squared – “Our culture is an education and marketing driven distribution company with a second-to-none award-winning customer care attitude. The Project

Sweet Squared is an expanding business and having outgrown its existing premises at Clayton Wood Bank in Leeds, purchased a new unit on Coal Road, maintaining the same workforce in their new larger premises.

The move meant that Sweet Squared required a supplier of Pallet Racking in Leeds to create over 1100 pallet locations in order to fulfil current demand and allow for future expansion.

The racking system is designed to store products on pallets 1200mm wide x 1000mm deep x up to 1500mm high x 1000 kgs maximum load. Organised into 1 x Single sided runs @ 13 bays long. C/w pedestrian Bridge bay (fitted with timber deck) & 7 x Double sided runs @ 7 bays long.

The pallet racking Frame Dimensions are 6300mm / 7800mm high x 900mm deep and beams are 2700mm long.

The system took 3 working days to install. For the fast moving individual SKUs, Avanta supplied and installed a carton live system that means individual items can be picked from boxes to be sent out to salons throughout the UK.
